Southeastern Places 163 on Southland Commissioner’s Honor Roll

HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana placed 163 student-athletes on the Spring 2021 Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, which was released by the league office on Thursday.
 
To be eligible for a spot on the Southland Commissioner’s Honor Roll, SLU student-athletes must have posted a semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the spring semester. The Lion and Lady Lion student-athletes combined for a 3.03 GPA for the spring 2021 semester, while also combining for a 3.17 cumulative GPA.
 
Among the Lion and Lady Lion contingent were 30 All-Southland Conference and 13 Academic All-Southland Conference selections, as well as 33 student-athletes with a 4.0 semester GPA’s.
 
The Lion football team led the department with 28 honorees. The baseball team was fourth among league baseball programs with 27 honorees on the list. The Southland Conference Tournament champion women’s soccer team placed 26 on the honor roll – good for third in the Southland.
 
The SLU softball team added 17 student-athletes on the list. Following closely behind was the Southeastern track and field program with 16 honorees, while 14 representatives came from the cross country teams.
 
The Lady Lion indoor volleyball team placed 13 on the list, which was second in the conference. Rounding out the Southeastern honorees were women’s tennis with six, men’s golf and beach volleyball with five apiece, women’s basketball with four and men’s basketball with two.
