Timothy P. Kennedy, 79, of Rehoboth Beach passed away at Pick Specialty Healthcare facility of Wilmington Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020.
He was born to Thomas J. and Helen (McKeon) Kennedy Might 5, 1941, in Holyoke, Mass. Tim graduated from South Hadley Falls High School in 1959 and graduated from the Culinary Institute of The usa in New Haven, Conn., in 1964. He married Elaine (Grady) Kennedy Aug. 29, 1964.
Tim labored as executive chef at many resorts and eating places together the East Coastline, settling in Delaware. Culinary arts was his passion, and he desired to exhibit his enjoy to a new technology. This led him to train culinary arts at Bancroft Middle Faculty and Howard Vocation Center for 27 years. Whilst educating college, he also ran a profitable catering enterprise for over 15 yrs. Tim received several awards and accolades in his a long time instructing, and retired to the beach front in 200 I.
Tim is survived by his spouse, Elaine his sons, Michael J. Kennedy (Amy B. Renne) of Two Harbors, Minn., and Kevin P. Kennedy (Moira M. Kennedy) of Centennial, Colo his two grandsons, Otto P. Kennedy and Gavin M. Kennedy of Centennial his granddogs Izzy and North in Minnesota, and Penny and Bella in Colorado his sisters, Ellen Nolan (Richard) of South Hadley, Mass., and Carolyn Powers (Donald) of South Hadley and brother Thomas J. Kennedy (Susan) of Newark. Tim was preceded in demise by his moms and dads, Thomas J. and Helen M. Kennedy.
Tim was an avid golfer who cherished a superior sport with pals and family, and generally looked forward to participating in the “Kennedy Dollar”
Golfing Event. His really like handed down to both of his sons, who competed against him in these tournaments. He was also a big football enthusiast, keeping
year tickets for the University of Delaware Fighting Blue Hens Football for about 25 a long time, and cheering his Philadelphia Eagles at every prospect.
Tim traveled the globe with his wife, and was so very pleased of his quite a few excursions. There had been a lot of memories in his travels, but two had been very special to him,
equally moments when he took the overall spouse and children, the Africa trip for his 50th wedding anniversary, and the 2018 trip to Australia and New Zealand. He was a curious traveler, looking at every thing he could about the area’s history, often leaving Elaine with a ebook on a bench though he read through every little thing in the museum! Tim appreciated traveling off the overwhelmed path, which allowed him to gain a newfound viewpoint on the neighborhood cultures. He savored sampling the local foods and likely to markets.
Because of to COVID restrictions, the authentic funeral day was postponed. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, June 28, at II a.m., at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
